Job Purpose
To render support to operational team members by executing duties and instructions received from the immediate supervisor in order to reach set project target dates (this post only executes tasks on the non-energised electrical distribution network)

Application Requirements
-Capable of performing required tasks
-Basic literacy skills
-Experience in maintaining wastewater collection systems is advantageous
-Physically fit and healthy, with no back issues
-Must pass a criminal background check, including fingerprinting by the Tshwane Metro Police Department at the applicant’s expense
-Willing and able to work shifts, standby, and overtime as needed

Primary Functions
-Clear sewer blockages
-Dig and backfill trenches using shovels, pickaxes, rakes, and rammers to repair sewer pipes
-Load and unload tools, equipment, and materials from the plumber’s truck
-Operate and manage water pumping equipment
-Assist the supervisor in aligning and fitting water pipe sections during repairs
-Provide tools and equipment to supervisors
-Clean the work area after job completion
-Clean and load tools
-Comply with the Occupational Health and Safety Act, 1993 (Act 85 of 1993)
-Maintain cleanliness at the depot and wash the plumber’s truck or vehicle
