Introduction
We are seeking a dedicated Driver and General Worker to support learner transportation, facility maintenance, garden upkeep, and health and safety compliance. The role ensures a safe and efficient environment for learners, staff, and visitors while aligning with organizational objectives.

Key Responsibilities
-Learner Transportation
-Drive a school transportation vehicle along designated routes, adhering to time schedules.
-Safely pick up and drop off students at designated stops.
-Transport students and teachers on field trips, planning routes and stops as needed.
-Maintain order and discipline among student passengers per district policies.

General Worker Duties
-Perform general maintenance tasks, including plumbing and other facility repairs.
-Conduct daily facility checks to ensure functionality and upkeep.
-Report required repairs to the facilities manager.
-Manage and store maintenance tools and consumables, advising on supply needs.
-Support security, access control, and traffic management across the facility.
-Maintain gardens, including grass and flower beds, ensuring cleanliness.
-Review daily work rosters and advise on gardening consumable needs.
-Store and maintain gardening tools.

Health and Safety
-Conduct daily safety and operational vehicle inspections.
-Report mechanical repair needs and service vehicles with fuel, oil, and tire/battery checks.
-Perform safety drills as required by law and complete related reports.
-Ensure vehicle cleanliness for safe operation.
-Attend safety, first aid, and training update meetings as required.

Record Keeping
-Complete periodic mileage and passenger count reports.

Minimum Requirements
-Valid Driver’s License (EC1 or C1 – Heavy motor vehicle up to 16,000kg) with a Professional Driving Permit (PDP).
-Fluency in English.
-Grade 12 (Matric) qualification.
-Clear criminal record.
-Experience driving a school bus or similar role is recommended.
-Willingness to work overtime when required.
-Ability to communicate effectively with learners, parents, and staff.
-Enthusiastic, trustworthy, and team-oriented.
-Punctual, helpful, energetic, responsible, and reliable.
