Role Purpose
As a Van Assistant, you will play a crucial role in ensuring that products are delivered efficiently, in excellent condition, and with a smile. You will be the driver’s right-hand partner, helping to build strong customer relationships while maintaining high standards of product handling and delivery service.
Key Responsibilities
- Product Loading and Quality Control
- Ensure that all products loaded onto the delivery truck are in excellent condition and meet Tiger Brands’ quality standards.
- Verify that date codes are correct and that products are not short-dated.
- Follow the loading sheet precisely to ensure the correct products are dispatched.
- Off-Loading and Returns
- Assist in the secure and efficient off-loading of baskets and returns.
- Carry baskets through the basket control gate and perform security checks after the truck returns to the bakery.
- Customer Service
- Help the driver maintain positive relationships with customers.
- Merchandise products neatly and attractively at the customer’s designated location.
- Be friendly, approachable, and helpful at all times to ensure an exceptional customer experience.
- Operational Efficiency
- Arrive at work on time, at least an hour before the scheduled start.
- Work effectively under the driver’s supervision.
- Ensure that deliveries are made accurately and promptly to the designated addresses.
Minimum Requirements
To be considered for this role, candidates should meet the following criteria:
- Grade 12 (Matric) certificate.
- No criminal record.
- Ability to work under supervision and follow instructions.
- Punctuality and reliability are essential.
- Willingness to handle physical tasks, including lifting and carrying baskets.
- Commitment to maintaining product quality and presentation.
