This role is essential to ensuring the smooth operation of clinics and mobile units, as the Clinic Packer will be responsible for preparing, organizing, and managing all clinic supplies, boxes, hampers, and equipment. By ensuring that every clinic is adequately packed and properly equipped, the successful candidate will directly contribute to SANBS’s mission of delivering safe and reliable services to the public.


Role Purpose and Key Responsibilities

The Clinic Packer will be tasked with ensuring that all clinic supplies are prepared and packed in line with clinic size requirements and specific checklists. This includes handling, cleaning, and maintaining equipment, as well as monitoring functionality to ensure that everything is in good working order before being dispatched to clinics.

Key duties include:

  • Preparing, controlling, and packing clinic supplies such as boxes, hampers, and essential equipment according to specific checklists.
  • Ensuring that all equipment is safely and correctly packed, clean, and maintained to meet operational standards.
  • Carrying out administrative and clerical responsibilities efficiently and accurately.
  • Assisting with the repair, replacement, validation, and routine maintenance of clinic equipment when necessary.
  • Supporting operational logistics by helping with the loading and off-loading of vehicles.

This position is highly physical in nature, requiring the incumbent to remain on their feet for long periods, carry loads of up to 14kg, and occasionally climb stairs when assisting in clinic set-up.

Job Requirements

To be considered for this role, applicants must meet the following minimum requirements:

  • Education: Grade 12 (Matric).
  • License: Valid Code 08 driver’s license.
  • Experience: At least 1 year of driving experience.

Applicants must also be willing to work overtime within prescribed limits and be available for shift work when required.
