Role Overview

The Data Capturer will be based in the branch environment and act as a vital support system for both the customers and the branch staff. The role is more than just data entry—it focuses on guiding customers through digital service platforms, ensuring their transactions are processed accurately, and helping them feel confident using self-service tools.

This position is especially important in today’s digital age, where businesses are shifting towards self-service and online platforms. Customers may sometimes struggle with these systems, and your role will be to simplify the process for them.


Key Responsibilities

As a Data Capturer, your daily tasks will include:

  • Customer Assistance: Helping clients with digitally enabled devices to complete their transactions seamlessly.
  • Queue Management: Assisting with managing customer queues and reducing the workload pressure on branch staff.
  • Guidance on Digital Platforms: Showing customers how to use self-service options such as submissions via their own devices or the branch’s self-service kiosks.
  • Information Support: Providing clear and easy-to-understand explanations about reading information and the submission process.
  • Contact Centre Details: Sharing information about call centre services where necessary.

Essentially, you’ll be the bridge between traditional customer service and modern digital platforms, ensuring that no customer is left behind in the digital transformation journey.

Minimum Requirements

To qualify for this role, you’ll need the following:

  • Education: National Senior Certificate (Matric) or an equivalent NQF Level 4 qualification.
  • Customer Service Skills: Strong interpersonal abilities and a customer-first approach.
  • Communication Skills: Excellent verbal communication in English (knowledge of an additional language is an advantage).
  • Problem-Solving: Ability to quickly resolve customer queries and adapt to different situations.
