The Office of the Chief Justice (OCJ) is inviting applications for multiple Clerk positions across different divisions of the High Court. Key Duties & Responsibilities
Administration Clerk (General & DCRS)
- Handle case records, ensuring proper filing, storage, and retrieval of court documents.
- Support court proceedings by accurately capturing and maintaining case information.
- Operate and manage the Digital Court Recording System (DCRS), ensuring recordings are secure and accessible.
- Provide general clerical support: typing, photocopying, scanning, and distributing documents.
- Assist in compiling statistics, reports, and correspondence.
- Maintain confidentiality and accuracy when handling sensitive judicial information.
- Serve as a professional point of contact for court users and respond to queries effectively.
Accounting Clerk
- Capture, verify, and reconcile financial transactions according to Public Service accounting standards.
- Maintain ledgers, registers, and related financial records.
- Assist in preparing monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements.
- Process payments, invoices, and claims in compliance with Treasury Regulations.
- Support internal and external audits as required.
- Provide clerical assistance in the finance department and address stakeholder queries.
- Uphold accuracy, accountability, and integrity in all financial records.

Minimum Requirements
Administration Clerk Posts
- Grade 12 (Matric) is mandatory.
- A recognised Legal/Administrative qualification is an added advantage.
- Valid driver’s licence preferred.
- Strong communication, organisational, and computer literacy skills (MS Office).
Accounting Clerk Post
- Grade 12 with Accounting and Mathematics is required.
- National Diploma in Accounting, Finance, or related field preferred.
- Strong numerical skills, attention to detail, and ability to work under pressure.
Skills and Competencies Needed
- Excellent verbal and written communication.
- Ability to work independently and in a team.
- Knowledge of clerical, administrative, and accounting procedures.
- Computer literacy (Word, Excel, relevant financial or court systems).
- High level of accuracy, accountability, and attention to detail.
