Qualifications and Skills Required:
- Valid Driver’s Licence (EC1 or C1 – Heavy Motor Vehicle up to 16,000 kg) and PDP.
- Fluency in English.
- Experience driving a school bus or in a similar transportation role is preferred.
- Excellent punctuality and reliability.
- Ability to communicate effectively with learners, parents, and staff.
- Energetic, helpful, and responsible with strong teamwork skills.
- Minimum requirement: Grade 12 (Matric).
- Clear criminal record.
- Willingness to work overtime when required.

Key Responsibilities:
1. Learner Transportation
- Drive a school transportation vehicle along designated routes, adhering to time schedules.
- Safely pick up and drop off students at assigned stops.
- Transport students and teachers for field trips, planning routes and stops as necessary.
- Maintain proper order and discipline among student passengers in accordance with district policy.
2. General Worker Duties
- Provide general maintenance and facility support as requested.
- Conduct daily checks of facilities to ensure everything is functioning properly.
- Assist with basic maintenance tasks, including plumbing or other minor repairs.
- Report any necessary repairs to the Facilities Manager.
- Manage and maintain maintenance tools and consumables.
- Support security and access control across the facility.
- Assist with traffic management when required.
3. Garden Maintenance
- Follow the daily roster for gardening and landscaping duties.
- Maintain lawns, flower beds, and other garden areas across the facility.
- Report requirements for gardening consumables to the Facilities Manager.
- Properly store and maintain gardening tools.
4. Health and Safety
- Conduct daily safety and operational inspections of assigned vehicles.
- Report mechanical repairs promptly and perform basic servicing of vehicles, including refueling, oiling, and checking tires and batteries.
- Maintain cleanliness of buses to ensure safe operation.
- Participate in safety drills, first aid training, and other operational safety updates.
5. Record Keeping
- Complete periodic reports, including mileage, passenger counts, and other required documentation.
