Salary: R158,844.00 – R174,012.00 per annum (Level 13 of a Grade 4 Local Authority)
Total Package (including benefits): R293,981.92 per annum

🧠 Minimum Requirements
To qualify for this role, applicants must meet the following requirements:
- Education: Basic Literacy or Grade 10 qualification (Grade 12 is an added advantage).
- Experience: At least one year of relevant work experience as a general worker or cleaner within a Local Government Authority or similar environment.
- Driver’s License: A valid driver’s license will be an added advantage.
- Skills & Attributes:
- Good interpersonal and communication skills (must be bilingual).
- Ability to follow instructions and complete assigned tasks efficiently.
- Physically fit and capable of performing manual labour.
- Self-disciplined, reliable, and hardworking.
- Residency: Applicants must reside within the Midvaal Local Municipality area.
🧺 Duties & Responsibilities
The General Worker position involves hands-on tasks focused on maintaining cleanliness and order in municipal facilities and public areas. Key duties include:
- Cleaning of Offices:
- Using cleaning materials, vacuum cleaners, brooms, brushes, and cloths to clean offices and municipal buildings.
- Washing of windows, floors, and furniture to ensure hygiene and neatness.
- Maintaining a clean, organized, and healthy work environment at all times.
- Outdoor Cleaning and Garden Maintenance:
- Cutting grass and maintaining gardens using lawnmowers and other gardening tools.
- Picking up litter, sweeping outdoor areas, and ensuring that municipal grounds are always tidy and presentable.
- Keeping public spaces, station grounds, and courtyards clean and welcoming.
- Other Tasks:
- Performing any additional duties as requested by the supervisor or management.
- Assisting with basic maintenance, event preparation, or other community service-related activities as needed.
