About the Role
As a Driver, you will be responsible for operating vehicles safely and efficiently, ensuring the secure transportation of people, equipment, and materials between designated locations. You will be part of a professional and safety-focused team where attention to detail and a commitment to excellence are key.
This role involves more than just driving — it’s about ensuring that every trip is conducted safely, vehicles are well-maintained, and operations continue smoothly across the site.
Key Responsibilities
Safety, Health & Environment (SHE)
- Always comply with safety, health, and environmental regulations.
- Identify and report unsafe conditions or practices to your supervisor.
- Maintain a clean and hazard-free work area in line with SHE standards.
Vehicle Operation & Performance
- Conduct pre-shift inspections to ensure vehicles and equipment are in safe working condition.
- Safely transport equipment, materials, or personnel according to company procedures.
- Assist in the loading, moving, and offloading of materials without causing damage to assets or injuries to people.
- Select the correct lifting equipment and tools as per operational requirements.
- Monitor vehicle performance throughout the shift and report any malfunctions or deviations immediately.
Team Support
- Collaborate with colleagues and supervisors to coordinate transport needs.
- Assist team members with various tasks, always maintaining professionalism and teamwork.
- Participate in maintaining high operational standards and supporting smooth workflow.

Qualifications and Experience Required
- Matric / Grade 12 certificate
- Valid South African Driver’s Licence (Code as applicable)
- Technical knowledge of vehicle components, maintenance, and functionality
- Ability to interpret technical standards, manuals, and component drawings
- Previous experience in a maintenance or transport support environment will be an advantage
This position is classified under Band J6, reporting to the Transport Coordinator/Planning Advisor.
