The Admin Clerk / Receptionist plays a critical role in the daily operations of the laboratory. This position is responsible for receiving, capturing, sorting, and distributing all laboratory samples to ensure accurate data collection and fast processing. 🎓 Minimum Requirements

  • Grade 12 or NQF Level 4 qualification
  • BSc Degree will be an added advantage

🧩 Key Responsibilities

As an Admin Clerk / Receptionist, you will be entrusted with several important duties that ensure the seamless functioning of laboratory operations:

  • Receiving and sorting samples according to standard operating procedures.
  • Registering (logging) samples and managing queries efficiently.
  • Dispatching specimens for testing and monitoring progress to meet turnaround times.
  • Performing hospital rounds to distribute reports and collect samples.
  • Handling administrative queries and customer complaints with professionalism.
  • Tracking sample delivery progress by couriers to ensure timely results.
  • Assisting in resolving bottlenecks in pre-analytical processes.
  • Maintaining housekeeping standards and ensuring all equipment is clean and ready.
  • Monitoring and ordering stock and supplies for daily use.
  • Managing the reception area, greeting clients, and directing them appropriately.
  • Receiving and processing payments from patients in line with company policy.
  • Logging incidents, reading and actioning tasks on the Laboratory Information Management System (LIMS).
  • Preparing and scanning patient forms using the laboratory’s scanning system (Oculus).
  • Adhering to Lancet’s uniform and professional appearance standards.
