Purpose of the Role
The purpose of this position is to maintain outstanding customer service in line with FNB standards, while ensuring accurate and efficient handling of cash register operations. As a Cashier, you will play a vital role in creating a positive experience for every customer by processing transactions efficiently, maintaining accuracy in all dealings, and safeguarding company assets.
Beyond cashiering duties, you will also contribute to general food and beverage support activities within the branch or service environment, ensuring smooth daily operations.
Key Responsibilities
In this role, you will be expected to:
- Deliver excellent customer service at all times, ensuring that every client interaction reflects FNB’s values of professionalism and care.
- Comply with governance and audit requirements, following all internal policies, financial controls, and legislative obligations.
- Assist with food and beverage management, contributing to a clean, efficient, and well-stocked service environment.
- Support basic food preparation tasks such as chopping, portioning, and organizing ingredients as scheduled by the Supervisor.
- Provide a reliable administration service through timely planning, accurate reporting, and efficient updating of information.
- Safeguard all company assets by maintaining strict control over floats, cash, passwords, and Point-of-Sale (POS) systems.
- Prepare tills and floats before each shift and ensure that the POS system is properly operational before service begins.
- Assist with stock counts — daily, weekly, or monthly — as required by the business.
- Maintain a high level of accuracy and attention to detail, especially during high-volume transactions.

Minimum Requirements
To be considered for this position, candidates must have:
- A Grade 12 (Matric) certificate or equivalent qualification.
- Previous experience as a Cashier and/or in a catering or food service environment.
- Strong numerical and literacy skills.
- A professional demeanor and the ability to engage positively with customers and colleagues.
