✅ Position Overview
DHL Supply Chain SA is looking for a dedicated Administrator: SHEQ (Safety, Health, Environment & Quality) for its Plumbago site. This role is essential in ensuring that the Distribution Center maintains high standards of safety, hygiene, compliance, and risk mitigation, while supporting the broader SHEQ strategy and operational excellence goals.
The Administrator: SHEQ will be responsible for conducting daily administrative tasks, monitoring compliance records, reporting safety concerns, and supporting organizational training in line with Health & Safety legislation, company policies and continuous improvement plans.

🎯 Main Job Purpose
- To ensure all SHEQ processes are well-implemented, documented and monitored.
- To support risk prevention, risk identification and mitigation activities using recognized and formalized safety management systems.
- To provide structured SHEQ planning for meeting safety and quality objectives within set timeframes.
- To perform and maintain all SHEQ administrative functions, including reporting, inspections, documentation filing, and statistics tracking.
🛠️ Key Responsibilities
General Administration & Compliance
- Conduct and maintain all relevant safety inspection checklists for the site.
- Continuously update and organize all SHEQ documentation and filing systems.
- Assist with induction of new employees and contractors — ensuring proper documentation and understanding of site safety rules.
- Record PPE issuance and ensure compliance in usage.
Risk Management
- Support Risk Manager in ongoing site risk assessments and incident investigations.
- Log Near Misses, Hazards and BBS conversations on SHEQ Reporting Management System.
- Ensure all incidents/accidents are reported and documented as per legislative and company standards.
- Maintain risk programs and support requirements for audits and inspections.
Stakeholder Support
- Assist in appointing and training Health & Safety Representatives.
- Collaborate with the Group OHS Officer and Group Risk Manager on training and compliance initiatives.
- Coordinate facilities requests for maintenance or repairs affecting safety.
- Compile and distribute minutes for monthly safety meetings.
Continuous Improvement & Monitoring
- Track SHEQ key performance statistics and communicate findings.
- Proactively identify health and safety risks and inform relevant personnel immediately.
- Maintain and update SHEQ communication notice boards daily or weekly as required.
- Support operational housekeeping and promote customer-centric safety culture.
📚 Minimum Requirements & Experience
- Matric (Grade 12) – essential
- Tertiary qualification in Logistics or Business – advantageous
- Minimum 2 years of practical Health & Safety experience
- Strong understanding of Health & Safety functions and regulatory requirements
- Ability to follow procedures, maintain accuracy and work under pressure
- Excellent administrative, analytical and communication skills
- Strong interpersonal leadership and motivational competencies
- Efficient with Windows, Email and Accounting packages
- High computer literacy & good problem-solving capability
