Because Discovery Life works so closely with brokers, financial advisors, and direct clients, the emphasis on building long-lasting, high-quality relationships is huge. Every interaction matters. That is why this Funeral Policy Administrator role is so central — it ensures that clients experience the smooth, supportive, world-class service Discovery is known for.
🌟 About the Role
As a Funeral Policy Administrator, your main purpose is to support the efficient administration of individual funeral policies within Discovery Life. Although an external service provider handles much of the administrative processing, Discovery’s clients and financial advisors still rely heavily on internal support to make sure everything runs smoothly. Your job is to bridge that gap — coordinating with the outsource partner, guiding clients, resolving queries, and making sure policy changes, updates, and requests are processed accurately and on time.
This role is perfect for someone who enjoys structured procedures, clear workflows, and meaningful interactions with people. You’ll be working with sensitive information, important policy updates, and clients who need clarity or reassurance. Accuracy, patience, and professionalism will be your daily tools.
🧩 Key Responsibilities
In this position, you’ll handle a wide range of duties designed to support clients, advisors, and internal teams. Your tasks will include:
✔ Customer Service & Policy Support
You’ll attend to queries such as updating beneficiary details, adjusting policy information, adding/removing lives assured, handling premium mandate changes, dispatching policy documents, and providing the right forms for claims or updates. You’ll also assist clients in completing forms correctly and route them where they need to go.
✔ Credit Control Assistance
Financial queries are a big part of this role. You’ll support clients and financial advisors by issuing statements, assisting with payment arrangements, and handling refunds where necessary.
✔ Complaint Handling & Escalations
When clients have concerns or complaints, you’ll be the first point of contact. You’ll resolve what you can and escalate more complex issues to the team leader or manager.
✔ Advisor Support
Financial advisors depend on quick, accurate information. You’ll guide them on the “how-to” side of funeral policy processes and ensure they have what they need to assist their clients effectively.
✔ Reporting & Administration
You’ll prepare and dispatch daily, weekly, and monthly reports to franchises and financial advisors. You’ll also maintain statistics and ensure all required reports are up to date and accurate.
