Key Requirements
Applicants must possess a Senior Certificate/Grade 12. A working knowledge of clerical duties and understanding of the legislative framework governing the Public Service is essential. Candidates must demonstrate competence in document management, data capturing, and the use of computer systems. Excellent planning, organizational, verbal, and written communication skills are critical, as well as the ability to maintain confidentiality and work accurately under pressure. The ability to work long hours, when required, is also an important consideration.

Core Responsibilities
As an Administration Clerk, you will play a pivotal role in ensuring the smooth running of administrative operations within the Chief Directorate. Your responsibilities will include:

  • Rendering general clerical support services.
  • Recording, organizing, storing, capturing, and retrieving correspondences and data.
  • Distributing documents and packages to internal and external stakeholders as required.
  • Maintaining the filing system and keeping accurate records of incoming and outgoing correspondence.
  • Liaising with internal and external stakeholders regarding the procurement of goods and services, including obtaining quotations and completing procurement forms for standard office items.
  • Maintaining the asset register and leave register of the Chief Directorate.
  • Coordinating the maintenance of personnel records and assisting with logistical arrangements for travel and accommodation.
  • Checking the accuracy of travel claims and other official submissions.
  • Performing ad-hoc duties as delegated, supporting the overall efficiency of the Chief Directorate.
