Purpose of the Role
The Administrator: Mining Ops is responsible for delivering high-quality administrative and on-site support to a designated mining operations team. Your work helps ensure smooth day-to-day functioning, proper documentation, environmental compliance, efficient communication, and overall improved operational efficiency. This role is perfect for a highly organised, motivated, and proactive individual who thrives in a dynamic environment.
Key Responsibilities
1. Administrative & Office Support
You will be the backbone of the team’s administrative processes. Expect to handle inquiries, schedule appointments, organise calendars, and prepare presentations. You’ll manage both internal and external correspondence, type documents, prepare reports, and ensure timely distribution of notes and communications.
Other tasks include:
- Ordering and maintaining office stationery and equipment.
- Photocopying, printing, organising, and storing documentation.
- Maintaining both hard-copy and electronic filing systems, including SharePoint.
- Booking rooms, coordinating meetings, and supporting conference and event arrangements.
Your ability to multitask, prioritise, and stay detail-focused will be essential here.

2. Environmental and SHE Support
A key component of this role is contributing to environmental management and Safety, Health & Environment (SHE) initiatives within the mine.
Duties include:
- Attending SHE meetings and presenting on environmental awareness.
- Assisting with inspections (surface and underground) to ensure legal compliance.
- Supporting the mine in managing environmental aspects and impacts.
- Ensuring audit findings are recorded, assigned, monitored, and closed out via Isometrix.
- Assisting with information collection and compiling reports required by authorities.
- Tracking tasks and actions linked to environmental and legal obligations.
- Supporting implementation and maintenance of the ISO 14001 Environmental Management System.

3. Communication & Client Interface
You’ll serve as a key point of contact for internal staff, external clients, service providers, and visitors. This includes:
- Answering calls, providing information, and transferring queries appropriately.
- Greeting and assisting visitors.
- Handling messages, distributing information, and maintaining professional communication at all times.
Strong interpersonal and communication skills will help you thrive in this area.
4. Travel and Logistics
The role also involves assisting colleagues with booking travel, accommodation, and other logistical arrangements.
Required Qualifications & Experience
- Minimum Education: Grade 12 / High School Diploma
- Work Experience: No prior experience required (ideal for entry-level candidates looking to build a career in mining administration)
