🔹 Minimum Requirements

To qualify, applicants must meet the following criteria:

  • Grade 12 / Standard 10 / NQF Level 4 / N3 or an equivalent qualification.
  • Strong computer literacy — essential for performing digital registrations, capturing data and handling hospital systems.
  • Good communication skills, both written and verbal, since the role involves interacting with patients, colleagues and supervisors.
  • Solid planning, organising and reporting abilities.
  • Knowledge of key prescripts that govern patient administration, including:
    • PFMA
    • Treasury Regulations
    • Public Service Acts
    • UPFS
    • National Archives Act
    • PAIA
    • National Core Standards
  • Ability to function under pressure in a busy healthcare environment.
  • Willingness to work shifts, including fixed shifts, after-hours, night duty, weekends and public holidays.
  • Preparedness to undergo medical surveillance, as required by hospital policy.

Administration Clerks at Thelle Mogoerane Regional Hospital will handle a wide range of essential tasks. These include:

  • Registering patients using SAP and RIS hospital systems.
  • Handling manual registrations during downtime and ensuring all information is captured electronically once systems are restored.
  • Following downtime protocols accurately to maintain data consistency.

Records Management and Compliance

  • Safekeeping and management of patient files according to:
    • The Records Management Act
    • PAIA
    • National regulations governing patient information
  • Ensuring confidentiality and secure handling of records at all times.
  • Adhering to the laws and hospital policies that govern patient admin and information handling.

Reporting and Statistics

  • Compiling, updating and submitting daily, weekly or monthly statistics.
  • Preparing required administrative reports to support management and patient services.

Stock Ordering & Administration Support

  • Monitoring and ordering stock for your department or assigned working area.
  • Providing support in various admin tasks assigned by supervisors.

Flexibility & Team Support

  • Relieving colleagues in other units or departments when necessary.
  • Cooperating during staff rotation schedules.
  • Upholding team spirit and ensuring smooth patient admin operations throughout the hospital.

Performance & Development

  • Fully complying with the Performance Management and Development System — including signing contracts, participating in reviews and completing assessments.
