About the Role:
As an Admin Assistant in the psychiatric setting, you will play a vital role in ensuring the smooth operation of the Training and Development Department. Your responsibilities will be varied, allowing you to gain experience in multiple administrative areas while supporting a professional team focused on quality mental health care.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide administrative support to the Training and Development Department, ensuring day-to-day operations run efficiently.
  • Perform general office administration, including filing, document management, and scheduling.
  • Manage reception duties and handle telephone enquiries professionally and courteously.
  • Assist with event planning and coordination for training sessions, workshops, and departmental activities.
  • Prepare and format professional communications, including memos, letters, emails, study guides, and mail merges.
  • Maintain an understanding of stock control principles to support smooth administrative operations.
  • Apply knowledge of Training and Development policies and procedures to assist colleagues and ensure compliance.
  • Support the organisation by using excellent organisational skills and attention to detail in all tasks.

Requirements:

Education:

  • Minimum: Grade 12 certificate.
  • Desired: Certificate or Diploma in Office Administration or related field.

Experience and Skills:

  • Proven administrative experience in a professional setting.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite – Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
  • Familiarity with training and development processes and hospital administration is an advantage.
  • Knowledge of telephone etiquette, formatting written communication, and office organisational systems.
  • Ability to coordinate events and departmental activities efficiently.
  • Understanding of hospital and nursing structures, particularly within a learning centre or clinical context.
