Make sure the store provides thorough customer service. stock loading and merchandising, housekeeping within assigned responsibilities, and shelf price labelling.
Requirements
- Grade 12 or at least one year of experience in a comparable field of employment
- Proficiency in both English and the primary language used in the region where the role is being offered
- Capacity to accurately complete simple computations
- Must be prepared to work weekends, public holidays, and shifts
- Ability to work under pressure is required
Job Description
Customer Service
- Recognize each customer and ascertain their demands.
- Give customers accurate product advice
- Help Customer with any questions about the product
- Respond promptly to customer complaints
- Supplementary sales such as paint versus paintbrushes, thinners, etc.
- Assure prompt loading of customers’ purchases to provide effective customer service.
- Make sure the items the customer is purchasing are loaded carefully so as not to harm the products or the customer’s vehicles.
- Inform customers about the extra services offered:
- Delivery assistance and large deposits
- glass breaking
- Arrange to read
- Credit-based schemes
- unique orders
- Falses
- remote ordering
- VIC Client Initiative
- Need to have a Product Knowledge certification
- Need to be accessible in the duty aisle
Housekeeping
- Make sure there are no obstructions in your way, that stock is merchandised as soon as it is received, and that customers may access and exit your aisle without running the danger of becoming hurt or irritated.
- Proper labeling of the shelf price within one’s jurisdiction.
- When on duty, make sure the checklist is completed in accordance with the canteen and restroom/shower schedule.
Safety (OHSA) Requirements
- Safety (OHSA) compliance within the assigned area of duty (e.g., using safety gear, ensuring the safety of customers and workers)
- Make sure that the racks and bulk products in your area of responsibility are safe for customers and coworkers to move about the store.
- Inform the store manager of any inconsistencies.

Loss Prevention and Security
- Find any gaps in the displays, look into the reasons behind them, and let management know about any worries.
- Keep an eye out for suspicious persons or behaviors, and notify management of any concerns.
- No goods will be loaded for a customer without the necessary paperwork or proof of purchase.
