Minimum Requirements:

Matric / NQF level 4 or equivalent;

a valid driver’s license with the code EC/EC1 (code 14);
2 years of experience driving and servicing large vehicles plus 1 year of experience working in an administrative setting, handling administrative tasks, maintaining records, and asset inventory;
knowledge of the City’s processes, best practices, regulations, and procedures for accurately and thoroughly filling out logbooks, trip authorizations, and any other administrative driving-related activities;

understanding of the surrounding geography pertinent to the job site as well as road signs and how they relate to safe driving procedures.

Primary Function:

involves operating a City of Johannesburg mobile bus to various outreach programs or events and carrying out various administrative support tasks as assigned during work hours.

N.B. The mobile unit driver may only carry out the actions listed below while directly under the manager of the opportunity center manager’s personal supervision.

Key Performance Areas:

drives the mobile bus unit safely to and from numerous destinations;
Coordinate Mobile maintenance to ensure that all maintenance is completed on time;
