There is a position open for a Junior Buyer at Safair Operations, also known as Flysafair, with our head office located in Bonaero Park (JHB).Senior Manager: Supply Chain will receive reports from the selected candidate.
RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • is charge of acquiring goods from regional vendors;
  • In charge of all non-aviation purchases and ad hoc tasks;
  • helping to answer any questions pertaining to supplier invoicing.
  • Every order is expedited every day, and buyers are informed when they need to take action.
  • reporting every week on the state of pending orders;
  • observing the dates on which equipment, life rafts, life vests, etc. expire;
  • Make sure supplier statements are updated and examined;
  • resolving problems with suppliers and making sure supplier invoices are accurate.

REQUIREMENTS:

  • Matric
  • Although not necessary, prior expertise in aviation procurement is desired.
  • proficiency with computers;
  • Having a postsecondary degree in procurement is beneficial.
  • a basic understanding of Microsoft Excel, including pivot tables.
  • Must be prepared to put in extra time as needed;
  • System and process drivenness is required;
  • a need for meticulousness;
  • Strong analytical skills are required;
  • Must be prepared to work under intense time constraints;
  • a self-motivated employee with teamwork skills;
  • Proficiency in communicating is essential.
