Description

Be sure the store provides thorough customer service. Within the assigned area of duty, stock loading and merchandising, shelf price labeling, and housekeeping are required.

 

Requirements

  • Grade 12 or a minimum of one (1) year of experience in a job-related field
  • Proficiency in both English and the primary tongue used in the region where the employment is being offered.
  • Capacity to do simple computations with accuracy
  • Must be prepared to work weekends, holidays, and shifts
  • Ability to operate under pressure is required.

 

Job Description

Customer Service

  • Recognize each customer and ascertain their demands.
  • Provide accurate product advice to customers
  • Help the client with any product-related questions
  • Promptly assist with customer complaints
  • Sales of add-on items, such as paint versus paint brushes, thinners, etc.
  • Provide effective customer service by making sure that the purchases of the customers are loaded promptly.
  • Make sure the customer’s purchases are loaded properly to prevent damage to the products or the vehicle.
  • Inform customers about the extra services offered:
  • Delivery service and large deposits
  • Cutting glass
  • Plan your reading.
  • Credit-based programs
  • Special requests
  • The trusses
  • Distance-based ordering
  • Program for VIC customers
  • Product Knowledge certification required
  • Must be accessible in the responsibility aisle

 

Housekeeping

  • Ensure that there are no obstructions in your area, that stock is merchandised as soon as it is received, and that customers may enter and exit your aisle without risk of annoyance or damage.
  • Proper shelf price labeling within your sphere of influence.
  • When on duty, make sure you follow the timetable for the canteen, restrooms, and showers.

Safety (OHSA) Requirements

  • Safety (OHSA) compliance within area of responsibility, including usage of safety equipment and ensuring customer and staff safety
  • Ensure that the space under your control (racking and bulk stock) is safe for customers and employees to move around the store in.
  • Inform the store manager of any inconsistencies.

 

Ready for Business

Loss Prevention and Security

  • Detect any gaps in the displays, look into the reasons, and alert management to any issues.
  • Be alert for any suspicious activity or individuals, and inform management if you have any concerns.
  • No goods will be loaded for a customer without the necessary documentation or proof of purchase.
