In charge of managing two or more packaging machines to guarantee that the packaging goals for cost, quality, safety, productivity, and morale are met effectively and efficiently.

Key Responsibilities

Operation:

packing targets are met with the packing machinery operating efficiently.

  • Verify the availability of the equipment before starting.
  • Utilize the equipment in accordance with established operating procedures for startup, operation, and shutdown.
  • Changeovers should be organized and carried out in compliance with the package production schedule.
  • End of shift handovers should be prepared and executed.
  • Workstations and equipment should be cleaned in accordance with timetables and standard operating procedures.
  • Attend shift meetings and participate.
  • Comment on the functionality of the device.
  • Transfer to the next shift.

Maintenance:

Carry out initial maintenance on packaging machinery.

  • Identify and evaluate the planned maintenance chores.
  • First line maintenance should be performed in accordance with SOPs.
  • Notify the team leader and packing technician of any machine errors or deviations.
  • Adhere to standard safe work procedures.
  • Execute initiatives for linked asset care (TPM, CILT) (First line maintenance ).

Safety, Health and Environment:

Compliance to the SHE standards and requirements in order to ensure safe operation of the de-palletising process

  • Inform the SHE representatives of any dangerous situations and mishaps.
  • Observe safe wake protocols, making sure you wear the appropriate PPE.
  • Sort and dispose of waste in accordance with the guidelines of the waste management program.
  • Participate in safety meetings and committees.
  • Through ongoing education and training, securing the cooperation and commitment of all workers to obey all safety rules, procedures, and processes in order to promote zero accident attitude, ensure that the department runs within business SHE standards and the OHS Act.

Compliance:

adherence to the regulations and quality standards to guarantee the packaging of a high-quality beverage

  • Make sure every step of the packing process is quality checked.
  • Keep an eye on the packaging equipment’s control settings.
  • Encourage all projects that are of high quality.
  • Gather information and maintain records for auditing and reference.

Qualifications:

  • Min Matric Certificate/ NQF3

Experience:

  • Minimum 1 to 5 years of FMCG-related experience
