Introduction

There is an opening for an Administration Clerk at the Life Vincent Pallotti Radiotherapy Centre in Cape Town, where the role is supervised by the Radiotherapy Unit Manager. The Centre offers extensive cancer care services to its patients. The person appointed to this position will play a key role in supporting the smooth administration of the Radiotherapy department.

Critical Outputs

  • Provide support with reception tasks as needed
  • Ensure an adequate supply of stationery is maintained
  • Organize and manage schedules for the Planning and Treatment Floor
  • Perform data entry tasks
  • Handle archiving responsibilities
  • Carry out filing and routine office duties
  • Greet visitors and respond to phone inquiries
  • Oversee front office entry and operations
  • Arrange and coordinate patient appointments
  • Keep patient records up to date
  • Manage the receipt, completion, and distribution of forms and correspondence
  • Demonstrate excellent administrative abilities
  • Be proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook
  • Work in an organized and methodical manner
  • Exhibit strong communication skills and a focus on patient care
  • Fluency in English and at least one additional official language is required

 Requirements

  • Possession of a Grade 12 certificate or an equivalent qualification
  • Advanced proficiency in computer applications, including Excel, Word, and Outlook
  • Outstanding interpersonal and communication abilities
  • Prior experience as an administrative assistant or medical receptionist is considered a bonus
  • Capable of handling multiple tasks efficiently, thriving under pressure while maintaining professionalism
  • Familiarity with hospital processes and relevant past experience is a plus
  • Understanding of ICD-10 codes and the authorization procedure is a must
  • Demonstrates honesty, trustworthiness, meticulous attention to detail, and dependability
  • Shows empathy and compassion
