Life Healthcare | Admission Clerk

An Admissions Clerk position is open at Life Knysna Private Hospital, where they will report to Admissions Supervisor Charlee Hans. In accordance with Life Healthcare regulations and procedures, the incumbent will be in charge of overseeing the admissions procedures.

Critical Outputs

• ensuring that the admissions process is administered accurately and effectively.
• Make sure that every piece of demographic information is meticulously gathered in accordance with work protocols.
• ensuring that the hospital’s financial risk is controlled by securing approval numbers in a timely manner, collecting co-payments, private estimates, and upfront deposits in compliance with Life Healthcare’s policies, goals, and objectives.
• Build strong bonds with patients, funders, physicians, and private patients, among other internal and external clients.
• Billing check closure within the unit targets
• gathering confidential estimations and controlling the associated financial risk.
• Proficiency in both written and spoken communication.
• Managing the switchboard, front desk, concierge, and porter responsibilities when required.
• Using POPIA expertise, create Scanco patient folders.
• Capacity to work weekends, evenings, and days in accordance with a flexible schedule
• An eye for detail.

Requirements

• Grade 12 / Matric
• It will be advantageous to have prior experience in front desk customer service and office administration.
• It will be advantageous to have knowledge of the private healthcare environment, including its obstacles and key players.
• Proficiency with Word, Excel, and Outlook
