Introduction
There is a position available at Life Knysna Private Hospital for a Permanent on Demand (POD) Admission Clerk. This position would have flexible hours and report to the Admissions Supervisor.The chosen applicant will be in charge of overseeing admissions and making sure everything goes without a hitch.
Critical Outputs
- performing hospital admissions and receptionist tasks
- Patients being admitted to Impilo
- Taking in and managing money
- coordinating with medical assistance to secure admittance authorization
- Following the hospital’s guidelines
- Following the department’s protocols
- accountable for appropriately documenting each patient admission to the hospital
- carrying out general administrative tasks related to patient admission, such as filing and helping with account billing
- Using the switchboard
Requirements
- Grade 12 or equivalent
- Experience managing personnel and providing customer service in a hospital setting
- thorough understanding of the admissions process
- It would be advantageous to have knowledge of the difficulties and key actors in the private healthcare sector.
- rudimentary knowledge of financial concepts
- Computer competence (in-depth familiarity with IMEDS or related software)
- A requirement is having excellent interpersonal and communication abilities.
- Experience interacting with clients
- It will be helpful to understand hospital protocols and medical jargon.
- Collaboration is crucial
- Ready to start working as soon as possible
- Capacity to function under pressure
- The capacity to fill leaves and work ad hoc shifts during busy times (minimum 24 hours per month, maximum 45 hours per week)
