Introduction

A position as an Admission Clerk reporting to the Admission Supervisor is open at Life Empangeni Private Hospital. In order to accomplish important strategic goals, the chosen candidate will be in charge of overseeing the accurate coding, gathering clinical data, and submitting patient hospitalization accounts in order to manage the financial and clinical risks of the patient event.

Critical Outputs

  • Maintain a professional, orderly, and patient-centered admissions area.
  • Verify the accuracy of the admissions procedure and take action to remove any potential danger factors.
  • Collaboration and synergy are fostered by working closely with doctors, case managers, credit controllers, and receptionists.
  • coordinating with medical support to obtain authorization for admission
  • Reduce the hospital’s risk by adhering to all applicable regulations.
  • Ensure that each patient gets top-notch treatment.
  • Operation of a switchboard
  • assisting with bed reservations when required.
  • Handling money, creating receipts, and doing daily banking chores all require prior banking knowledge.
  • acquiring the required documentation, co-payments, and any applicable private fees.
  • doing routine pre-admission administrative duties for patients.
  • A&E’s billing and account release.
  • Account questions.
  • Offer to help with the confirmation process if necessary.
  • Assist with the assignments given to you by the line manager.
  • observing the department’s, company’s, and hospital’s policies.

Requirements

  • Grade 12 and computer literacy is essential.
  • exceptional written and oral communication abilities.
  • It helps to understand Imeds and Impilo.
  • a motivated, vivacious, orderly individual with the ability to take charge and handle pressure.
  • ability to perform day or night shifts and overtime when necessary. Focus must be placed on offering client service.
  • Having outstanding communication and interpersonal skills is a requirement. Cooperation is essential.
  • Prior experience with medical terminology and admissions would be beneficial.
  • Understanding the challenges and important players in the private healthcare industry would be beneficial.
  • Speaking two languages
  • Having previous experience with account queries or administration will be beneficial.
