Job Description

Lindsay Saker Fourways is currently seeking a Light Duty Driver for an open position.

Under the supervision of the Service Manager, this role is ideal for someone capable of handling all driving responsibilities and supporting additional reasonable tasks as needed.

Specific Role Responsibilities

Inspect vehicles for any flaws and confirm they are securely locked.
Examine vehicles for damage and ensure they meet basic roadworthiness standards.

Report all incidents, including accidents and traffic violations.
Perform any additional reasonable tasks as requested by the department.
Provide translation assistance for other languages whenever feasible.

Inspect all new vehicles for damage, defects, missing tools, or spare tires, and notify the Manager.
Ensure all vehicles are locked and their keys are stored safely in the key box or at reception.
Start vehicles periodically to maintain battery condition.

Work overtime as needed, including night shifts from 8:00 PM to 5:00 AM.
Conduct driver training for drivers or customers during the handover of new vehicles.
Complete all required documentation related to driver training sessions.

Transport vehicles between the dealership, suppliers, and customers.

Qualifications and Experience

A minimum of a Grade 12 education is required.
Must hold a valid Code 14 (EC) driver’s license.

A valid Public Driver’s Permit (PDP) is essential.

Skills and Personal Attributes

Must possess strong verbal communication abilities.
Demonstrate exceptional time management skills.

Exhibit problem-solving capabilities.
A Driver Trainer Qualification from an OEM or equivalent experience would be beneficial.
Show a collaborative, team-focused attitude.
