Requirements

• Valid drivers licence

Key Responsibilities 

• Staff transportation, union meetings, and staff transportation between farms (should a driver take over for a utility driver)
• High driving standards, familiarity with cars and trucks, and an understanding of environmental safety, animal welfare, road safety, and health and safety
• Gathering of products
• When dumping chicks and eggs, maintain a professional demeanor while being helpful and aggressive.
• On-time deliveries to farmers
• Planning and coordinating customer deliveries and pickups, as well as providing service to optimize production outcomes
• Every day, trucks and cars are inspected.
• Keeping track of kilometers and miles
• Cleaning and disinfecting trucks
• Egg transportation from laying locations to hatcheries
• Chicks being transported to both internal and external clients
• Equipment transportation between locations
• Purchasing materials and spare parts from vendors who are unable to supply
• driving cars, trucks, and utility bakkies in general.
• Maintaining vehicle security (making sure trucks are locked), keys are stored in a certain location.
• Monitoring vehicle air conditioning temperatures when delivering eggs or chicks and reporting any variations
• responsible for the number of eggs and chicks in stock
• The proper protocol to adhere to when loading and unloading eggs Ensure the load is secure.
• Find any deviations on the truck and notify them.
• Determine whether there are any other cost-cutting measures for the trucks.
