At Addo Main Camp in the Addo Elephant National Park, there is a demanding permanent position available to carry out the daily tasks of a fuel attendant, including on weekends and public holidays.

Requirements
Matric Certificate.
a minimum of seven to twelve months of fuel attendant experience.

understanding of safety and health in the workplace.
awareness of the fundamentals of customer care.
Mathematical and basic accounting abilities are vital.

Prior experience managing cash is required.
Effective communication, listening, and interpersonal skills are crucial.
No criminal history (reference and criminal background checks will be made).

proficiency in two local languages in addition to English.
A practical exam should be something the candidate is willing to do during the interview.

Responsibilities

accepting payments for all transactions and supplying cars with fuel and oil as part of their usual service at the gas station.

collecting fuel pump readings every day and making sure the results match the day’s actual sales.
ensuring that the safety precautions at the gas station are always followed and compliant with the applicable laws.
Carry out simple duties including routinely cleaning the gas station and its surrounds to maintain order and cleanliness.

daily management of oil and gasoline inventories
When fuel levels are low, fuel orders are placed in accordance with the procurement procedure.
keeping clients’ needs in mind when providing service, being courteous and careful, and avoiding mistakes.

checking calculations and signatures on handwritten coupons.
reviewing documentation, reports, and cash-up documentation to ensure accuracy and to record any flaws or issues with machines and equipment.
It makes no mention of other ad hoc tasks.

The compensation package consists of a base pay determined by applying the Paterson B1 job grade salary scale to the position, as well as allowances and benefits as detailed in the SANParks Conditions of Services and HR Tariff Document.
