Two vacancies currently exist for Handymen in Table Mountain National Park.

Requirements

Matric.
A trade certificate in plumbing, HVAC, air conditioning, electrical, or a similar field would be advantageous.
Driver’s license with PDP in code 10.

three (3) years or more of hands-on experience required in a technical or maintenance sector.
fundamental understanding of equipment repairs, carpentry, plumbing, electrical, and building maintenance.
working familiarity with the Occupational Safety and Health Act.

fundamental abilities in general administration.
Capacity to function well in adverse circumstances and under pressure.
able to work public holidays and weekends when needed.

It will be necessary for candidates to perform a practical evaluation.

Responsibilities

physically completing pertinent maintenance semi-skilled jobs in compliance with preset quality and productivity criteria, such as plumbing, welding, air conditioner and refrigerator maintenance, electrical work, and civil work.
routine upkeep of the terrain, ablution blocks, staff housing, tourism buildings, administration, and other infrastructure services, such as electricity, pumps, sewer systems, buildings, and equipment, in addition to helping to inspect the work of maintenance contractors.

Keeping track of the maintenance needs and completed tasks every day.
delivering workers, supplies, equipment, and inspecting vehicles.
Tool and equipment inventory and storage.

helping to organize, schedule, and carry out technical duties.
placing stock orders and supporting supply chain operations.
basic housekeeping and additional activities as needed, determined by the supervisor.

helping with routine administrative duties such keeping track of inventory and stock, filling out time sheets, log sheets, leave applications, and other month-end reports.
