The University is seeking outgoing people who will take pleasure in their appearance and be in charge of general cleaning tasks as well as any other associated responsibilities. In addition to meeting the qualifications and competences and overseeing the key performance areas mentioned below, the incumbent reports to the Head of Department (HOD): Campus Cleaning.

REQUIREMENTS

  • Grade 10/ Standard 8
  • Having a grade 12 qualification will be helpful.
  • a minimum of two (2) years of experience working in a comparable setting as a cleaner
  • expertise and understanding in the use of chemicals, cleaning supplies, and other materials
  • Understanding and being aware of cleaning-related health and safety rules and procedures

KEY PERFORMANCE AREAS

  • cleaning the university’s grounds in accordance with the timetable and guidelines.
  • Bins should be routinely emptied and cleaned according to standards.
  • Make sure all trash is removed from designated areas.
  • keeping the kitchen hygienic and clean (clean staff dining spaces, refrigerators, and kitchens).
  • Clean and vacuum the flooring.
  • Make sure the windows are always clean.
  • Walls and stairwells should be spotless.
  • Restock on consumables and clean and sanitize bathroom, kitchen, and toilet fixtures.
  • After meetings and/or events, tidy and clean the space; deep clean, sterilize, and wash the floors and elevators, among other things.
  • cleanup of spills on-site.
  • Inventory management and oversight of all materials and chemicals utilized.
  • Determine which maintenance and/or workplace safety and health issues need to be fixed or replaced, then report them to management.
  • Make sure that SHE policies and procedures are followed.
  • Assist in other areas as needed and respond to any justifiable requests from management.
  • Carry out any additional responsibilities given by the line manager.
  • Encourage a culture of growth, cooperation, and teamwork in the workplace and actively seek to enhance the institutional culture.
  • Accepted for work on weekends and after hours.
