Generic Requirements:

  • Candidates must demonstrate proficiency in the essential duties of the position;
  • possess proficiency in a minimum of two official languages, with English being a required language;
  • possess a national vocational certificate or a senior certificate (grade 12) listed on the National Learner Record Database at Nqf Level 4;
  • possess a valid driver’s license at the very least;
  • Be a citizen of South Africa;
  • Must Not Have Any Pending Criminal or Departmental Cases Or Prior Criminal Convictions;
  • Any tattoo marks that are visible when wearing a service uniform must be absent.
  • Candidates will go through a screening procedure that includes fingerprint verification and security screening;
  • Candidates must be able to communicate with others both verbally and in writing.
  • Be able to work long hours and under pressure.

Additional Post Requirements:

  • possess at least three to four years of driving experience;
  • possess both a public driver’s permit and a driver’s license with codes Eb, C1, C, Ec1, and Ec.

Core Functions:

  • Make sure the fleet of armored vehicles is administered;
  • Make that the fleet of operational vehicles is administered;
  • Oversee and Organize Transportation Assistance;
  • Assure the nationwide movement of personnel, equipment, and vehicles;
  • As requested by clients, prepare and pack vehicles for transportation;
  • Ensure that cars and equipment are loaded and unloaded;
  • Make sure that vehicles are properly inspected and maintained; report any losses or damage to vehicles;
  • Contribute to the creation of policies, standard operating procedures, and instructions pertaining to the mobilization of the fleet of assigned vehicles.
  • Making sure that State Vehicles and National Instruction 2 of 2022, Armoured Vehicles, are in compliance with National Instruction 4 of 2011;
  • Oversee the fleet of vehicles assigned to mobilization support, including their registration, certification, and use;
  • Oversee the upkeep of the designated fleet of mobilization support vehicles;
  • Give the section head performance and implementation reports on the specialized fleet’s operations, including mobilization support for inclusion in the Saps’ annual report;
  • Verify Compliance With Minimum Information Security Requirements (Miss)
