Brief description
The primary objective of this role is to deliver financial administration assistance to the Economic Research Department of the South African Reserve Bank (SARB).
Detailed description
The successful candidate will be responsible for the following key performance areas:
- Participate in short-term planning and carry out tasks outlined in the work plan established with the Team Leader: Management Support.
- Assist with administrative tasks related to preparing the annual budget and forecast.
- Provide reports on monthly budget discrepancies.
- Ensure adherence to the procurement policy, budget guidelines, and other applicable SARB policies.
- Support the department’s financial administration by performing general tasks and submitting accurate payment details on time.
- Handle various administrative duties to support the department’s programs and operations, including but not limited to records management, correspondence, facilities oversight, security training coordination, contract administration, ICT coordination, asset management, and basic HR administration.
- Aid in managing the department’s risk and compliance processes, including updating risk matrices and action plans based on internal and external audit findings.
- Interact effectively with internal and external stakeholders providing services to the department.
- Undertake ad hoc or project-based administrative tasks as directed by the team leader or manager, while complying with relevant guidelines, standards, and policies.
Qualifications
To be considered for this position, candidates must be in possession of:
- A Higher Certificate (NQF 5) in Administration, Risk and/or Compliance, Governance, or Records Management, or a comparable NQF 5 qualification;
- One to three years of relevant work experience;
- Familiarity with industry trends, organizational and business insight, along with skills in information management, reporting, and administration.
