Job Description
UD Trucks Midrand is currently recruiting for an Administrator: Service Advisor (Non-Technical) position.
The role aims to deliver fast and high-quality service to customers regarding vehicle service, repair, and maintenance. It serves as a link between the technical team and customers, ensuring repairs are cost-effective and service is of excellent quality.
The Service Advisor offers cost estimates for repairs and routine maintenance, communicates effectively with customers to identify required services, estimates completion times, and keeps customers informed throughout the repair process.

The responsibilities of a Service Advisor include the following tasks:
- Greet customers professionally and warmly to make them feel appreciated.
- Engage with customers attentively to fully understand and address their service requirements.
- Prepare service estimates, promote routine maintenance and repair services, and follow up on customer inquiries and service progress.
- Communicate effectively with customers, explaining service details clearly and appropriately, involving Service Technicians when needed.
- Increase customer awareness of all available products and services.
- Foster collaborative relationships with internal and external partners to speed up service delivery.
- Manage appointment scheduling, answer phone calls, and respond to customer inquiries.
- Support the arrangement of alternative transportation options, such as car rentals or shuttle services.
- Uphold high standards of departmental paperwork, including service sheets, invoices, job cards, warranty claims, and authorizations.
- Keep an up-to-date customer database with accurate contact details and information.
- Help the dealership meet and maintain industry benchmarks for process efficiency and service quality.
- Build and sustain strong customer satisfaction and loyalty to encourage repeat business.
- Handle customer complaints efficiently using the appropriate CRM system(s).
- Continuously expand personal knowledge to stay current and relevant in the role.
- Participate in regular team meetings, offering and receiving feedback to support ongoing improvement.
- Attend all required OEM training courses and other assigned developmental training opportunities.
Qualifications and Experience
Minimum Qualifications and Experience needed:
- Grade 12 (Matric) qualification.
- Possession of a valid, unendorsed driver’s license and the ability to drive confidently and legally.
- Proficiency with computers.
- Familiarity with dealership policies and procedures is crucial.
- Understanding of the competitive motor industry.
- Basic numerical skills (numeracy).
- Familiarity with relevant operating systems is a plus.
- Prior experience with the Isuzu brand is beneficial.

- Strongly self-motivated, enthusiastic, and capable of sustaining a positive attitude.
- Principled and ethical in conduct.
- Required to gain in-depth knowledge of the vehicles they manage, including not only technical specifications but also details about the manufacturer’s warranty, dealership services, OEM updates, and more.
