Job Description
-Manage workflow coordination among service advisors, foremen, and customers in the service department.
-Provide timely updates to customers on service bookings and progress.
-Collaborate effectively with all stakeholders as a team player.
-Oversee daily workshop opening and closing procedures.
-Ensure vehicle security, including locking vehicles in workshops and securing keys in a key safe.
-Confirm vehicles are parked outside each morning with keys secured in a key safe.
-Verify job cards are signed and comply with MBSA standards.
-Support technicians with timely quote preparation.
-Assist the Controller, Foreman, Service Manager, and Service Receptionist as needed.
-Track parts ordered for the workshop, ensuring delivery within MBSA’s 5-day requirement.
-Arrange test drives for vehicles with specific complaints, involving a Foreman or Quality Controller when necessary, before customers leave the dealership.
-Ensure all vehicles undergo test drives.
Position Overview
Mercedes-Benz Bryanston is seeking a Service Advisor to report to the Service Manager. The ideal candidate will consistently deliver high-quality service and exceptional customer care.
Specific Role Responsibilities
Customer Service:
-Uphold customer service standards as agreed.
-Ensure accurate diagnosis based on customer-reported symptoms.
-Handle pre-costing and invoicing of vehicles prior to customer collection.
-Keep customers informed about progress and any delays.
-Address customer inquiries and complaints promptly.
Administration:
-Plan daily operations effectively.
-Prepare job cards in advance.
-Document non-warranty claims.
-Manage Work In Progress (WIP).
-Monitor and manage outstanding cash.
Education & Experience:
-Minimum Grade 12 qualification.
-Computer literacy, ideally with Kerridge experience.
-2-3 years in a similar role.
-Preferably a Mercedes-Benz certified Service Advisor.
-Knowledge of the motor industry is advantageous.
