Required Qualifications and Experience:
-Matric (Grade 12) Certificate
-Valid driver’s license, with a Professional Driving Permit (PDP) considered a bonus
-At least 3 years of driving experience
Key Responsibilities
-Transporting employees between farm locations
-Picking up supplies and equipment from suppliers for storage
-Ensuring timely delivery of spare parts, documents, and goods to farms
-Coordinating and scheduling deliveries and pick-ups with customers to optimize production outcomes
-Verifying goods upon collection from the service provider
-Scheduling and managing vehicle maintenance
-Collecting deceased animals while using appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE)
-Operating the incinerator
-Safely transporting chemicals to farm sites
-Checking the trailer’s roadworthiness prior to use
-Complying with Occupational Health & Safety, Environmental, and other Risk Management standards as outlined in the OHS Act, COID Act, and Road Safety Act
Competencies:
-Understanding of vehicles and excellent driving abilities, with knowledge of Health and Safety practices, incident and accident reporting, and daily vehicle checks before travel
Basic math skills
-Proficiency in speaking, reading, and writing English
-Willingness to work adaptable hours, with self-motivation and the ability to make independent decisions when needed
-Strong communication and organizational skills
-Positive customer service skills
-Well-groomed and presentable appearance
-Capability to use the vehicle’s jacking system and replace tires
-Medically certified as fit to drive, including for night driving
